Putter Smith (Born Patrick Smith on January 19, 1941 in California) is an American jazz bassist, teacher and retired actor.
He famously played the part of (possibly) homosexual assassin Mr. Kidd alongside partner Mr. Wint (Bruce Glover) in the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever
Smith authored the book Putter Smith: Improvising Handbook, for Double Bass, which is occasionally available at book fairs.
